Rev. Marvin R. Alexander, aka “Pastor A.”, is the Founder and Executive Director of Mephibosheth Project Inc. (MPI). Pastor A. currently serves as the Chairperson for the Wayne County Reentry Council, an officially recognized affiliate of the NC Department of Public Safety (NC DPS). Pastor A also serves as a Chaplain for the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department and is the official Community Liaison for the Goldsboro Partners Against Crime (GPAC), a subsidiary of the Goldsboro Police Department.
It is the fact that Pastor A. has been the recipient of “Grace”, as related to some of his previous bad choices in life that causes him to have the passion and commitment to see others active success and gain a new start in life. The services provided through MPI, have assisted over 125 individuals in their efforts to pursue educational opportunities, obtain gainful employment and more importantly enjoy a life beyond incarceration. Pastor A. is a truly gifted Inspirational and Motivational Speaker that is frequently sought out for his ability to speak life into those that are in need of a 2nd Chance.
Pastor A. holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Substance Abuse Counseling and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Human Services Technology, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies, with a Minor in Psychology. He also holds a Masters of Divinity degree with a concentration in Chaplaincy and Pastoral Counseling from Campbell University Divinity School. Pastor A. is a certified Transitional Aftercare Network (TAN), mentor, in association with the NC DPS Division of Chaplaincy, and is recognized through the Correctional Counseling Institute as a certified Moral Reconation Therapy Facilitator. Pastor A. is also a member in good standing of both the American Association of Christian Counselors and the American Association of Pastoral Counselors.
